IP Takedown Policy

How to submit an intellectual property complaint about a script.

Draft — Alpha Operating Policy

This document is an operating draft for ScriptVault's public alpha. It has not been reviewed by a legal professional and does not constitute legal advice. It will be updated before broader public release.

1. Important Disclaimer

Viridex Systems is not a registered DMCA agent. This policy describes a voluntary takedown process for intellectual property complaints. It does not constitute legal DMCA compliance and is not a substitute for formal legal process. This policy will be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before broader public launch.

2. What This Policy Covers

This policy covers complaints about:

  • Scripts uploaded without authorization by the original author or rights holder
  • Scripts that reproduce or are substantially derived from copyrighted work without permission
  • Scripts that violate a rights holder's intellectual property rights

This policy does not cover general content complaints. For those, see the Content Reporting Policy.

3. Complaint Requirements

To submit a complaint, you must provide:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Identification of the specific script(s) in question (title, guild, script ID if known)
  • Description of the work you claim is being infringed
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized
  • A statement that the information in your complaint is accurate

Complaints must be submitted in good faith. Filing false complaints may have legal consequences.

4. How to Submit

During the alpha period, submit IP complaints through the ScriptVault Hub:

  1. Join the ScriptVault Hub
  2. Navigate to the support channel
  3. Submit your complaint with all required information above

A formal complaint submission channel will be established before broader public launch.

5. What Happens After Submission

  1. Acknowledge: We acknowledge receipt within a reasonable time.
  2. Notify server: The server's administrators are notified of the complaint.
  3. Quarantine: The script may be quarantined pending review.
  4. Review: Viridex Systems reviews the complaint.
  5. Outcome: Script is removed, retained, or a counter-response process begins.

6. Counter-Response

Server owners and uploaders have the opportunity to provide a counter-response stating they have the right to use the content. Viridex Systems will consider counter-responses as part of the review. Counter-responses do not guarantee the script will be restored.

7. Repeat Infringement

Servers with multiple upheld IP complaints may have their upload privileges suspended or library access terminated.

8. False Complaints

Filing a knowingly false IP complaint is a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy and may result in suspension of the complainant's access to the ScriptVault Hub.
