Content Reporting Policy

How to report scripts and content, and how reports are handled.

Draft — Alpha Operating Policy

This document is an operating draft for ScriptVault's public alpha. It has not been reviewed by a legal professional and does not constitute legal advice. It will be updated before broader public release.

1. Purpose

This policy describes how content reports are submitted, processed, and resolved in ScriptVault. It applies to script-level reports submitted through the bot and to out-of-band policy reports.

2. What Can Be Reported

  • Scripts that contain malicious or harmful content
  • Scripts that violate intellectual property rights
  • Scripts that violate the Acceptable Use Policy
  • Scripts uploaded without authorization by the original author
  • Scripts that are dangerous or safety-relevant

3. Who Can Report

Any server member can report a script in their server using the built-in report system. Server administrators can also escalate reports to Viridex Systems.

4. How to Submit a Report

Use /script report in Discord. Provide:

  • The script title or ID
  • The reason for the report (select from available categories)
  • Optional: additional details or context

Reports are anonymous to other members but visible to Library Managers and Administrators of your server.

5. What Happens After You Report

  1. The report is logged and added to the server's report queue.
  2. The server's Library Managers and Administrators can view reports via /script admin reports.
  3. Staff review the report and take action.
  4. Reports can be escalated to Viridex Systems for policy-level review.

6. Possible Outcomes

OutcomeDescription
No actionReport reviewed and dismissed — no violation found
QuarantineScript hidden from search pending further review
ArchiveScript removed from active library but metadata retained
Permanent removalScript and file deleted from the library
Upload suspensionUploader's upload privileges suspended for the server
Guild suspensionServer's library access suspended

7. False Reports

Submitting false or malicious reports is a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy. Repeated false reports may result in report privileges being suspended.

8. Emergency Safety Reports

If you believe a script poses an immediate safety risk, escalate through the ScriptVault Hub (Support) immediately. Do not wait for the standard queue process.

9. IP and Copyright Reports

IP complaints and takedown requests are handled separately from content reports. See the IP Takedown Policy.

10. Reporter Confidentiality

The identity of reporters is not shared with the subject of the report. Report details are visible to authorized server staff and Viridex Systems staff only.

11. Evidence Preservation

ScriptVault may preserve evidence (script files, metadata, report details) related to active reports and policy enforcement actions, even if the original content has been removed.
